Our Steps are Ordered by the Lord!

Hello Friends!  I once said, "Good morning" to an old man and he replied, "Yes, it's always a good morning when you wake up on this side of the ground!"  So, good morning to everyone on this side of the ground! lol

Have you ever driven through a tunnel? There is a long, dark tunnel in Mingo County, West Virginia that I have had the scary privelege of driving through several times for family reunions.  This tunnel is about one mile long and only has room for one lane of traffic.  You have to pay close attention and have clear vision to know when to enter the tunnel because you can get so far in and find out that another car is coming your way and have to back all the way out.  Now this may seem strange but because of the lack of lighting in the tunnel, sometimes headlights look as if they are on the other side waiting, when they are actually coming through.  There are other times when both sides of the tunnel have cars waiting thinking that the other one is coming through and they are both just sitting with neither side moving.

Why did I share this story about the tunnel?  Because "our journey" is so much like the tunnel.  It's sometimes passable, sometimes waiting and sometimes we even have to back up.  God promises to order our footsteps.  We can trust Him to advance, block and even back us up a bit if He needs to.

A Test of Trust:  If God says "Go", will you go forward even if you don't feel ready?  If God says, "Stop here, hold up!  We've got to get something adjusted.", will you humbly say, "OK, I'm not ready to go forward..."  If God says, "No, no, no!!  You've got to go back and get this thing corrected."  Will you patiently go back?  In a world where I don't see what He sees and know what He knows, the answers are YES, YES and YES.   For I am but a sheep.

Don't Settle...

Hello Friends!  Happy "Middle of the Week"!  We've made it half way through...  Reckon we can hold out  and make to the end?  lol  Of course, we can.  Have you ever heard the Lord tell you, "finish strong"?  I have.

Have you ever thought about the 2 1/2 Israelite tribes who settled before the Jordan River?  They were satisfied to not go any further with the rest of God's people.  Today, I wonder, how many of us came from homes where our parents decided to settle or just couldn't seem to finish strong...  I think about addictions, strongholds and every bad way of living that holds people back.  Had some of our parents went further, we would have inherited a better lot.

It's not too late, you know.  We all have the right of passage given to us by Jesus Christ, our Savior.  We don't have to stay in the lot (spiritually speaking) where we were born.  We have the right to get up and walk out and we have the document to prove it, it's in the BIBLE.  We have a deed to a better lot in life, it's in the BIBLE.   We have promises of rewards and great dwelling places, and yes, it's all written in the BIBLE.  God's Holy Word has a lot to say about where you are and where you are going and where you are living and where you could be living!

God is a "Heart Turner"!

Hello Friends!  My heart is for you today.

The Word of God tells us that the King's heart is in the hands of God and like the rivers of water, God can turn it in any direction He chooses.  So that is why I say, "My heart is for you!"  God has turned my heart toward you.  My thoughts are for you...  My prayer is for you...  And, my heart is for you...

My thought for you today is if God can turn the King's heart in any direction He chooses, then how much more easily can God turn someone's heart in your life toward you?  In other words, my prayer is that you trust God to turn the hearts of those you need favor from in your direction.  Relationships can be very difficult in the natural, but we can trust God to work in the supernatural.  Whether a spouse, boss or superior, or maybe even your child, God can and does heal relationships.  God works well with matters of the heart.  I am living proof.

God is able.  Trust in His Word today.

Saved and Serving!

Hello friends!  Thank you to everyone who is praying for this ministry.  As always, we are praying for you.  Also, thank you for your posted comments on Facebook and the emails!  We appreciate your feedback.

I had a conversation recently with a young woman who reminds me so much of me when I was her age.  She has settled into motherhood (with three children) and sometimes feels isolated and unfulfilled.  Well, I understand exactly how she feels.  For those of us who are older, we know very well how quickly this season will change.  Children grow fast!  But for this young woman, the season of close mothering and being home bound is right here, right now.  She needs prayer and communication with other people.

A solution found in the word of God:  find someone to serve other than those in your own household.  The Proverb 31 Woman extended her hands to the poor.  You would think that with all she had to do and take care of, she would not have enough time to reach out to the needy.  She made time.

There is something that is so edifying and fulfilling about serving someone who has no expectation of you.  It doesn't take much to invest a little into someone else.  Remember, most of us are busy but busy doesn't mean you are serving.

At the Feet of Jesus

Hello friends!  I pray each day for you.  I am wondering how many of you are praying also...  In a world filled with worry, remember we worry less when we pray more.

Over fourteen years ago, the Holy Spirit began to pull me to the feet of Jesus.   Through the years, some have tried to tag me a "prayer warrior" but that's not so.  I do know some prayer warriors personally and can tell you that I don't deserve the title.  I am just a woman who was led by the Holy Spirit to spend time at the feet of Jesus.  Today I still have my same spot on the floor.  What a difference and change it has made in my life!  Please be encouraged to spend a little time at the feet of Jesus today.  You dont have to be a prayer warrior to know the value of this special spot and there's always room for one more!

Painful Pasts

Hello friends!  I am praying for you, as always.  My first thought in prayer today was about my past.  So many of us, if not all of us, have something from our past to contend with.  I truly believe that God uses everything in our past to draw us closer to Him.  Honestly, had I not known pain and hurt, I probably would have never reached for God.  If we lived a life without pain or struggle and then missed out on heaven what would be the profit?

Heaven is so real to me, and, at the same time, so is hell.  I thank God today for Jesus and also I thank Him for using my pain for my good.  Can you say the same?  Has heaven become real enough to you that your past actually makes sense?  Yes?  Praise God!  No?  Keep surrendering yourself to the power of God's Word and Holy Spirit.  He will not only make sense of it all but will turn the weapons used against you into an effective tool of production and growth.  What a God!!!

In Search of God

Hello friends!  Let the Hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord!  Who are you seeking today or what are you seeking?  In a world full of lust, insecurity, boredom, depression, anger and fear, we often  search for something or someone to comfort our existence instead of seeking the One who has the power to change our existence.

Our God gives love, acceptance, fulfillment, comfort, joy and peace.  If we can figure out what we are seeking, most likely we can figure out who we are seeking.  Ask the Holy Spirit to help you identify what it is and who it is you need to be seeking today.

Reaching the World!

Hello friends!  I met a beautiful songwriter a few days ago.  Her name is Pasty Turner-Matthews.  Like me, Patsy enjoys the closeness we feel with God when we open our heart to Him in song.  As I talked with Patsy, I could see that she was not only willing to search for the presence of God but to be filled with His presence and then carry His presence to other people!

The Holy Spirit empowers us all to be witnesses to the love of God that is in Christ Jesus.  Smile, shake a hand, give a hug, offer a word, leave a card, give an invitation or, like Patsy, maybe just share your song with someone today!

Patsy's Song

I will make a difference
In my world today
I will show the love of God
In all I do and say
Empowered by the Holy Spirit
God alive in me
I will be a testimony
So my world will see
That I will make a difference
In my world today
